Pedestrians, WATCH OUT!

After watching the news this evening, two things come to mind: 1) Stay off the sidewalk and 2) WHO is licensing these people to drive?!

Yet another kid was hit by a car while walking home from school today! (Thank goodness he wasn't critically injured like the last young man, now in a coma at a local hospital).

In another part of town, a motorist almost drove into the Boise River after driving off the road by Boise State University around noon today! (per the news crew "drugs & alcohol may have been a factor." At NOON?! In the MIDDLE of the week?!)

While following a large pickup today, I watched him almost take out two different people in two different crosswalks. (Both pedestrians had the right of way!)

So kids, what have we learned today?
1.) Obtaining a driver's license apparently does not require any actual skills behind the wheel or safety training.

2.) "If you don't get started before noon, you'll be behind."

3.) The doctors might have been wrong about all that walking being so good for your health...especially if it involves walking by roadways, parking lots, school zones, river banks....ok just about anywhere that a car might be able to drive!

So all you pedestrians out there...stay safe & watch out for crazy drivers!
